Everything is art, everyone is an artist. My medium is primarily photography, though I dabble in writing and sculpture. I have an academic background in photography and politics with a focus on social justice and environmentalism.
My work is aesthetically influenced mainly by documentary photographers like Berenice Abbott and Weegee, but it is ideologically influenced by artists like Rising Buffalo and Snotty Nose Rez Kids. Political purely because of the world in which they exist, they can't afford to be apolitical when the world is inherently unjust.
Indigenous people are consistently pushed out of the places we called home, the culture removed from the people, and the people removed from the place, but sometimes a few of us lingered. We make our own home wherever we are.
